Despite a formidable result against Elche on the weekend, Real Madrid are likely to take up a cautious approach as they gear up for the second leg tie against Manchester City.
The Spanish giants are coming on the back of a 3-0 lead from the first leg. However, the team is still missing multiple players due to injury.
One of the injured players is Raul Asencio, who has missed the last game against Elche and was only a substitute in the first leg.
Heading into this second leg tie against Manchester City, Diario AS suggests that Asencio remains a doubt this week.
The young defender continues to suffer from calf discomfort, and it is unclear whether or not he will be fit enough to play against Real Madrid.
Although nothing has been ruled out, it will be decided at the last minute as to whether or not Asencio should travel with the team.

There are positives elsewhere, with Alvaro Carreras, the other injured defender, doing part of the training with the team.
The former SL Benfica fullback is trying hard to receive the medical clearance for the second leg clash and is sure to travel with the team.
However, he will have to pass a test at the Etihad, before he can be cleared fit to play against Pep Guardiola’s men.
The potential return of Carreras could serve as a major boost for Alvaro Arbeloa, although it remains to be seen whether or not the Real Madrid coach would consider the idea of directly throwing Carreras into the mix.
The coming day or two could be important as Real Madrid desperately seek the return of some of the injured stars before their second leg clash against Manchester City.
