There has been a noticeable shift in how Real Madrid are viewing Antonio Rudiger’s future, and it could have major implications heading into the summer.
What once looked uncertain is now slowly turning into a realistic possibility, with the club reconsidering its position on the experienced defender.
According to a report from AS, Real Madrid are now open to the idea of extending Rudiger’s stay at the club.
Interestingly, this marks a significant change from just a few months ago, when his continuity seemed far from guaranteed.
The turning point has been his physical recovery.
Rudiger had been dealing with persistent knee problems earlier in the season, which raised concerns about his long-term reliability.
However, after taking decisive action to address the issue, the German international has managed to completely change the narrative around him.
As part of his recovery process, Rudiger travelled to London for specialised treatment, and that decision now appears to have paid off.
His performances and availability in recent weeks have convinced the coaching staff that he is once again capable of performing at the highest level.

His growing importance has not gone unnoticed within the club, as Alvaro Arbeloa recently made his admiration clear while speaking about the defender’s impact.
“I hope that Real Madrid fans realise how lucky we are to have him at this club.”
On the pitch, Rudiger is set to feature in his seventh consecutive match against Atletico Madrid.
He has started nine of the last 10 games and completed the full 90 minutes in eight of them.
Despite all this, his contractual situation remains unresolved. His current deal is set to expire at the end of the season, meaning Real Madrid must soon make a definitive decision.
However, unlike earlier in the campaign, the momentum now appears to favour a renewal.
From the player’s perspective, there is little doubt, as Rudiger is eager to continue at Real Madrid, a club he considers a dream destination.
If he continues on this trajectory, the contract situation could ultimately resolve itself naturally.
