Real Madrid are going through one of their best starts to a season in a long time and much of that success should be credited to the defenders, who have conceded only ten goals in 11 league matches.
While Dean Huijsen has been a standout player, Eder Militao has been equally brilliant at the heart of Real Madrid’s four-man backline.
In fact, the Brazilian international is going through one of the best spells in his career right now, which is backed up by a truly exceptional statistic.
According to Albert Ortega, Militao hasn’t been dribbled past even once in any of his last five matches in all competitions.
The Brazilian’s flawless run has come against a gauntlet of high-level opponents: Valencia, Barcelona, Juventus, Getafe, and Villarreal.
Militao’s invincibility has been most notable in the season’s biggest matches. In the 2-1 El Clasico victory over Barcelona, he was an unsung hero.

He was credited with stopping everything that came his way, making key blocks and interceptions while completely nullifying Barça’s attack. He even contributed offensively, providing the assist for Jude Bellingham’s goal.
Just days earlier, in the crucial 1-0 Champions League win against Juventus, he was similarly dominant. Despite being tested by Dusan Vlahovic’s runs, Militao won his individual duels and was never beaten one-on-one.
This elite form has been built on a foundation of consistency in La Liga. In this weekend’s 4-0 dismantling of Valencia, he was solid and composed, contributing more on set pieces than he was even required to in defence.
Against Getafe, he delivered another stable, all-around performance to secure a 1-0 win, and he was a key part of the 3-1 victory against Villarreal.
