Since joining Real Madrid from Chelsea in the summer of 2022 on a free transfer, Antonio Rudiger has established himself as a cult hero at the Santiago Bernabeu.
One of the most beloved figures in the dressing room and among the fans, the 32-year-old German centre-back has been a rock at the back for the Merengues.
With his contract set to expire in the summer of 2026, there has been some talk of interest from Saudi Arabia, who are on the prowl to poach big names from European football.
However, in a recent press conference, Rudiger has made his stance clear as far as his future at Real Madrid is concerned, stating that he does not plan to leave the Spanish capital club in the near future.
The former Chelsea ace is currently a part of the Germany national team squad who will face Italy in the UEFA Nations League this week.

Ahead of their meeting, Rudiger, who enjoyed a stint in Italy with AS Roma, was asked if he has any plans to return to the country.
The centre-back, though, made it abundantly clear that an exit from Real Madrid is not on his mind at the moment, saying (h/t Real Total):
“I like the country and really enjoyed my time in Italy. You have great clubs here. In football, you never know, but I’m very happy where I am now. I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon. But in the future: who knows?”
As mentioned earlier, Rudiger has a contract at Real Madrid that runs until the summer of 2026.
Talks over a new deal are yet to take place but given the 32-year-old’s standing and importance within the team, it will not come as a surprise to see the Merengues offer him a one-year extension.
