The futures of Aurelien Tchouameni and Ferland Mendy at Real Madrid appear to be closely linked to the continued tenure of manager Carlo Ancelotti, according to a report by Alejandro Alcaraz in SPORT.
Both players have faced criticism and uncertainty, and their long-term positions at the club are now in question.
Tchouameni, the French midfielder who was signed from Monaco for €80 million, initially impressed during his first season. However, over time, he has struggled to meet the expectations of the club.
Real Madrid arein need of a midfielder who not only excels at defending but also contributes to building attacks. Unfortunately, Tchouameni’s style does not match this requirement.
With midfielders like Federico Valverde and Eduardo Camavinga performing at a higher level, Tchouameni’s future looks uncertain. His potential departure could see the club recoup the €80 million they invested in him.

There were also unsettling signs in the match against AC Milan, where Tchouameni was booed and whistled by the Santiago Bernabéu crowd during his substitution.
In that game, Tchouameni was involved in two of the three goals conceded by Real Madrid, further intensifying the criticism he has faced.
Mendy, on the other hand, continues to have the support of Ancelotti due to his solid defensive capabilities. Yet, despite his defensive strengths, Mendy has failed to impress offensively.
Real Madrid, with its history of attacking full-backs like Roberto Carlos and Marcelo, expects more from its players in the attacking third. Mendy’s lack of offensive contribution has been a major issue, as the team often loses width and depth on the left side when he plays.
If the club signs someone like Alphonso Davies and Ancelotti is no longer in charge, Mendy could find himself pushed out of the team, with Fran Garcia being the more likely option to stay.
