This past international break saw Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Jr. being left out of the Brazil squad by manager Carlo Ancelotti.
With the Selecao having already qualified for the FIFA World Cup and the fact that the Real Madrid forward had not been in the best form saw him being left behind.
It meant that the 24-year-old attacker stayed in Madrid and worked hard in improving himself over the past two weeks.
Now, according to AS, Vinicius went through a mental reset and physical conditioning over the last couple of weeks and is now at 200% ahead of Real Madrid’s return to action.
As such, there is renewed excitement and optimism within Valdebebas about the Brazilian superstar and how he is looking ahead of Saturday’s game vs Real Sociedad.

The Merengues activated a specific programme to get Vinicius into peak physical condition. The feeling at Valdebebas was that pre-season was so short that all players would benefit from two weeks of individual work, which the Brazilian was able to complete this month.
Everything was measured down to the last detail: seven sessions with the group, gym work, rest and plenty of physiotherapy, ball work and tactics to maintain rhythm and strengthen collective mechanisms, targeted muscle training, monitored recovery, and days to clear the mind.
The feeling is that now Vinicius has regained energy and reset his focus. He has worked tirelessly these two weeks and looks mentally refreshed.
“He knows it is his moment,” is the message from within.
Vinicius knows he has not lived up to expectations, to his reputation, and is now ready to do so, having enjoyed a ‘second pre-season’ of sorts over the past two weeks.
