The home fans in attendance at La Liga giants Real Madrid’s meeting with Levante on Saturday have made use of the opportunity to take firm aim at club president Florentino Pérez.

This of course comes amid what has been a tumultuous week to date in Spain’s capital.

Real Madrid are fresh off sending Xabi Alonso packing from the dugout, before installing Álvaro Arbeloa as his replacement.

In the latter’s first outing in charge, Los Blancos were then sent packing from the Copa del Rey at the hands of 2nd-tier Albacete.

These developments have given rise to widespread unrest across the club’s fanbase, amid the belief on the part of many that Alonso was unfairly treated.

And as alluded to above, on Saturday, this contingent of fans have pointed the finger of blame squarely in one direction.

Across Real’s La Liga meeting with Levante to date, on three separate occasions, chants of ‘Florentino (Pérez) resign’ have been heard booming around the Bernabéu.
