Interestingly, Vinicius, who has already netted 49 goals in 177 La Liga appearances, stands a chance to reach this landmark in front of the home fans.

A brief history of Vinicius’ scoring record

After arriving from Flamengo in 2018, Vinicius scored his first league goal in February 2019, during a game against Alaves at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Coincidently, his most recent goals in La Liga were also against Alaves, where he scored twice on 14 May, helping his team secure a dominant 5-0 victory.

Vinicius has an average of 0.27 goals per game in La Liga, scoring once every 238 minutes. Now in his seventh season with the club, he has managed to score a hat-trick only once, which came against Levante during a 6-0 win in the 2021-22 season.

That same season, he also scored braces against Levante, Elche and against Valencia.

Goals that count

To date, Vinicius’ 49 goals in La Liga have contributed 25 points to Real Madrid’s tally. His best goal-scoring season in the league was during the 2021-22 campaign, where he netted 17 goals.

It is also noteworthy that only one of his goals came from the penalty spot, which was the opener in Real Madrid’s thrilling 3-2 win over Barcelona in the El Clasico at Santiago Bernabeu on 21 April.

As he chases his 50th La Liga goal, Vinicius Jr. will aim to continue his impressive form and make his mark in Real Madrid’s storied history.
