The future of Vinicius Jr. remains the hottest topic at Real Madrid right now, with the club yet to renew his contract that expires at the end of next season.

Vinicius’ demands are still far off from what Real Madrid are willing to offer, which has generated widespread speculation about his future at the club.

A recent report from Ramon Alvarez has offered a fresh update on the future of Vinicius Jr..

The journalist claims unless there is a change in plans, Vinicius will return to Madrid on Friday, July 31, following his holidays after Brazil’s World Cup campaign. It means that the meeting will not be taking place on Monday.

Nevertheless, his return is significant, as it will finally allow both parties to sit down and resume contract talks that have been at a standstill for months.

Relations between the club and the player remain cordial, but the salary Vinicius is demanding continues to be the major sticking point, with Real Madrid so far reluctant to match those figures.

Los Blancos are keen to resolve the matter quickly, aware that failing to tie him down could see them lose one of their biggest assets for nothing in 2027.

The Yan Diomande factor

The noise around Vinicius’ future has coincided with Real Madrid stepping up their interest in RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande.

The Ivory Coast starlet has emerged as a genuine target, and his potential arrival would represent a shrewd piece of forward planning.

Should Vinicius fail to sign an extension and push for an exit, Real Madrid would already have a ready-made replacement lined up in the explosive youngster.

For now, though, the priority remains keeping Vinicius at the Bernabeu.

With Arsenal circling and Saudi Arabia still lurking, the coming weeks could prove decisive in determining whether the Brazilian commits his future to the club or brings an eight-year association to an end.
