After being sent off in stoppage time for vehement protests towards the referee during the match against Getafe (0-1), Franco Mastantuono has been punished. The Real Madrid player has received a two-match suspension.

"What a shame, what a fucking shame," the Argentine attacking midfielder reportedly said, according to the referee's match report. The disciplinary committee of the Spanish Championship ruled that the Madrid player displayed an "attitude of contempt or disrespect towards the referees."

Franco Mastantuono will miss the upcoming La Liga matches against Celta Vigo (March 6) and Elche (March 14).
