Following back-to-back losses against RCD Mallorca and Bayern Munich, Real Madrid will hope to bounce back when they face Girona later this week.
It is extremely important for Los Blancos to grab all three points against the Catalans on Friday night, for a defeat would put an end to their slim hopes of a La Liga title triumph.
And, it appears that Alvaro Arbeloa will be boosted by the return of an important player for the game.
Indeed, according to journalist Mario Cortegana of The Athletic, Ferland Mendy is expected to be back in the Real Madrid squad for Friday’s game against Girona.
The left-back, therefore, is also set to be available to face Bayern Munich in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals next week.

Mendy has been out of action for more than three weeks now, having suffered a hamstring injury in the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 against Manchester City.
The 30-year-old Frenchman had only come back from a previous injury and put in impressive displays against Celta Vigo and City before being dealt with a fresh setback.
He trained with the squad on Monday, but Arbeloa opted not to risk him against Bayern yesterday, as the plan was to take care of him and ensure his readiness for the second leg.
Mendy once again trained with the rest of the group today with good feelings. And as such, he is now expected to be included in the squad for the Girona game on Friday.
It is unlikely that the left-back will start against the Catalans, but he could be given minutes off the bench to help him gain some rhythm before facing Bayern Munich next week.
