Concern is mounting within Real Madrid following injuries to Trent Alexander-Arnold and Eduardo Camavinga during the 3-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao on Wednesday night, in the Spanish La Liga.

Alonso faces a headache: Arnold and Camavinga injured

According to the newspaper Marca, Arnold felt muscle tightness after a collision with Bilbao’s Alejandro Rego, resulting in a right ankle sprain. He was forced off the pitch in the 55th minute, replaced by Raul Asensio.

Camavinga also suffered an ankle sprain, forcing coach Xabi Alonso to bring on Turkish midfielder Arda Guler as his replacement.

El Chiringuito announces a long layoff for Arnold

The program El Chiringuito reports that initial assessments suggest Arnold could be out until the end of 2025, as he will require extensive rehabilitation before returning to full match fitness.

That leaves Real Madrid in a tough spot at right-back, a situation further complicated by the ongoing absence of Dani Carvajal. With matches against Celta Vigo on December 7 and Manchester City on December 10 fast approaching, Alonso may have to turn to Valverde or Asensio as temporary solutions on the right flank.
