Real Madrid are already preparing for what could be a very busy summer transfer window, and one name that has quickly climbed their shortlist is Vitinha.

The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder is widely regarded as one of the most complete options currently available, and his profile fits exactly what Madrid are looking for as they aim to reshape their midfield for the future.

Strengthening the centre of the pitch remains a clear priority for the Spanish giants.

While the current squad has depth and quality, there is a growing recognition within the club that an additional playmaker is needed, someone capable of dictating tempo, controlling transitions, and elevating the overall balance.

Vitinha ticks many of those boxes. His ability to combine defensive discipline with technical precision has made him one of the standout midfielders in Europe.

Not a simple deal

However, according to AS, turning that interest into a concrete move will not be straightforward.

This is because, despite improved relations between Real Madrid and PSG following the collapse of the Super League project, negotiations would still be highly complex.

The French club are under no pressure to sell and would only consider a transfer if the player himself pushes for an exit.

Financially, the deal presents another major hurdle, as any move for Vitinha would require an investment exceeding €100 million, a figure that Madrid do not typically commit to lightly.

That said, within the club, there is a belief that such an investment could be worth it for a player of his calibre.

No rush

Even so, Real Madrid are not rushing into a conclusion.

This is because the coming months will play a big factor in the decision-making, as performances in the final stretch of the season, along with the World Cup, will influence the final choice.

For now, Vitinha stands out as one of the most admired candidates for the role.

But as is often the case with Real Madrid, admiration alone is not enough. The conditions must be right, both sporting and financial, before any move is made.
