In a recent report, Fichajes mentioned that Real Madrid have identified Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez as a target. It has been revealed that Los Blancos are eyeing a move to bring the Argentina international to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium next year.
Fernandez has made a solid start to this campaign as he has produced a handful of impressive displays at the heart of Enzo Maresca’s midfield. The Argentine talent has featured in 15 matches for the Blues this season, scoring four goals and earning one assist in the process across multiple competitions.
The 24-year-old has offered decent protection for his teammates at the back and deserves credit for making 16 tackles, eight blocks, four interceptions and four clearances in the Premier League. He has even been tidy when distributing possession from midfield based on his pass completion rate of 81.6% in the English top flight (stats via fbref.com).
His current contract at the West London club will run out in the summer of 2032. Therefore, Real Madrid would have to make a big offer if they want to stand a chance of recruiting Fernandez next year.

Fernandez is a solid tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to secure possession back for his team inside his half. He usually clears the danger when the opposition are on the front foot and is a tidy passer of the ball as well.
The Argentine talent can strike the ball with power from long range and is an energetic runner with the ball. He is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also operate as a defensive midfielder or play in the number ten position if asked to do so.
We can expect Fernandez to add more energy and dynamism to Real Madrid boss Xabi Alonso’s midfield. He is good enough to nail down a regular starting place at the Madrid club in the coming years.
At 24, Fernandez has his peak years ahead of him, which makes him a decent choice for Los Blancos to consider this January or at the end of this campaign. Therefore, Alonso should focus on going for him next year.
