Real Madrid have major decisions to make with regard to the future of some of their senior players in the squad in the months to come.
One such player happens to be Antonio Rudiger, whose contract with Los Blancos stands to expire at the end of the ongoing season.
Recent reports have suggested that the club plan on letting the 32-year-old centre-back leave as a free agent, along with his defensive partner David Alaba.
However, according to journalist Matteo Moretto on Radio MARCA, Real Madrid are already in talks with Rudiger over a new contract for the defender.
The centre-back, for his part, has always prioritised staying at the Santiago Bernabeu, even though clubs from Saudi Arabia continue to show an interest in signing him.

The journalist acknowledged that there are concerns at Real Madrid about Rudiger’s physical condition given his recent injuries and his performances in the coming months will be crucial.
But, Real Madrid do want to renew his contract and the player himself has his heart set on staying at the Bernabeu.
Rudiger is currently recovering from an injury he sustained in September. The German international has resumed training on the pitch this week and could soon make his comeback, possibly even as early as this weekend’s La Liga clash vs Elche.
If it happens, it will be a timely boost for Real Madrid, considering that they recently lost Eder Militao to an adductor injury for two weeks, leaving them with Raul Asencio, Alaba, and Dean Huijsen as the only available centre-backs.
