According to Glorioso 1904, Real Madrid have named a 24-man squad for the UEFA Champions League play-off first leg at Benfica, with Kylian Mbappé included for the trip to Estádio da Luz.

The France forward returns after remaining on the bench against Real Sociedad on Saturday. Álvaro Carreras, who spent a season and a half at Benfica before rejoining Madrid in the summer, is also back at Luz, having already returned there on the final matchday of the league phase. Vinícius Júnior is in the travelling party.

Arbeloa has also called up youngsters Fran González, a goalkeeper, Joan Martínez, a centre-back, and midfielders Cestero and Thiago.

Raúl Asencio and Rodrygo, both sent off at Luz, are unavailable, while Jude Bellingham misses out through injury.

José Mourinho had reasons to smile in Monday’s session on 16 February. Preparing for Madrid’s visit, the 63-year-old saw Fredrik Aursnes and Amar Dedic take part.

The first leg of the play-off for a place in the Champions League round of 16 is set for Tuesday, 17 February at 20:00 at Estádio da Luz. François Letexier will referee. The match will be shown on Sport TV with exclusive coverage on Benfica FM.
