Real Madrid is still considering a move for Arsenal star

Real Madrid remain interested in signing Martin Zubimendi, despite missing out on the midfielder when he left Real Sociedad for Arsenal.

The Spanish international chose to join Arsenal a year ago, a decision that proved to be an excellent one. He enjoyed a superb debut campaign and played a key role as the Gunners secured the league title, a success that may have left Madrid reflecting on their decision not to pursue him more aggressively.

His impressive performances have only strengthened his reputation, and he has continued to establish himself as one of the standout midfielders in European football.

Real Madrid Maintain Interest

Xabi Alonso had reportedly encouraged Real Madrid to sign Zubimendi before his move to Arsenal. However, the Spanish giants decided to continue with the midfield options already available to them rather than strengthen that area of the squad.

According to Fichajes, Real Madrid have never lost interest in the Arsenal midfielder and are now determined to complete a deal. The La Liga club are eager to add him to their squad during the current transfer window.

The report suggests that the club believe Zubimendi would be an ideal addition as they continue to assess ways of improving their midfield options ahead of the new campaign.

Arsenal Face Potential Challenge

Jose Mourinho continues to reshape the team, and Zubimendi has reportedly caught his attention after producing a series of outstanding midfield displays for Arsenal during their Premier League-winning campaign last season. Mourinho is said to be keen to bring the Spaniard into his squad.

Zubimendi has spent only one season at Arsenal, making him an important figure in the team in a relatively short period. The Gunners are unlikely to want to part with such an influential player, particularly after his contribution to their successful campaign.

Even so, every footballer has a price, and the possibility of returning to Spain to represent a club such as Real Madrid could prove to be an attractive opportunity. Whether Arsenal are prepared to entertain any offers remains to be seen, but interest in the midfielder appears to be growing once again.
