LaLiga president Javier Tebas did not hold back against Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez.

In recent hours, during Real Madrid’s major general assembly, Florentino Pérez addressed all of the hot topics concerning his club and Spanish football. He didn’t spare anyone, and especially took aim at LFP boss Javier Tebas over the deal with the CVC investment fund and the plan to play the Barcelona-Villarreal match in Miami. The response came swiftly. The LaLiga president quickly fired back at Florentino Pérez’s remarks.

“Florentino, the very same who, back in 2021, solemnly warned that ‘football is seriously ill economically’ and that only his Super League could save it. Today, he has once again lashed out at all the institutions, including LaLiga, with a tone that is clearly messianic, sectarian, supremacist, authentic, and as if he alone holds the truth… In the end, it was to be expected—each year he outdoes himself, perhaps it’s down to the frustration of the few who still follow him. In the coming hours, I will respond to his criticisms point by point: some are false, others are distorted, and some do not tell the whole truth about what is really at stake,” wrote the Spanish executive.
