Real Madrid will be back in action in a week’s time as they take on RCD Mallorca on 4 April in their first match after the international break.

Leading up to that match, manager Alvaro Arbeloa is set to be greeted with some positive news on the injury front.

Eder Militao ready

According to journalist Rodra of ESPN, key Real Madrid defender Eder Militao has already received his medical clearance to return to action.

The Brazilian international has been out of action since early December due to a muscle injury. Given his past fitness issues, Los Blancos have been careful and cautious with the centre-back’s recovery.

However, Militao has now been training with the group for over a week now, participating in all sessions, which has come as a major boost for Real Madrid.

As such, he is understood to have already been given the all-clear by the medical department to make his comeback after the international break.

Despite that, it is unlikely that Militao will start against Mallorca, but he could get some minutes off the bench in the league game.

Mendy still some way away

Meanwhile, the same report suggests that another important defender, Ferland Mendy, is still some way away from making a comeback.

Having suffered a fresh injury in the Champions League clash against Manchester City, the French left-back was expected to be ready right after the international break.

However, as per the update from Rodra, Mendy will not be ready for at least 10-14 days, meaning his availability for the games against Mallorca and Bayern Munich is all but ruled out.

It remains to be seen if he makes it back in time for the second leg of the UCL quarterfinals against the Bavarians.
