Real Madrid have received a major boost ahead of their upcoming clash against Real Oviedo after fresh reports confirmed that Kylian Mbappe has returned to full training without any problems.

According to journalist Sergio Quirante, the French forward completed the entire group training session at Valdebebas on Tuesday, only days after missing El Clasico because of a sudden injury issue.

The latest update surrounding Mbappe’s condition appears highly encouraging for Real Madrid ahead of Thursday’s match.

Optimism returns

The forward took part in every aspect of training alongside the squad and showed no signs of discomfort throughout the session.

As highlighted, Mbappe completed shots, sprints and physical contact exercises normally, strengthening the belief that he will be available against Oviedo.

As such, there are currently no indications suggesting the Frenchman could miss the match.

His recovery has progressed well, especially considering he also trained with the group during the previous session, which has increased optimism regarding his immediate return to action.

Doubts remain over starting role

Despite the positive medical update, uncertainty still surrounds whether Mbappe will start the match or instead return gradually from the bench.

With the FIFA World Cup approaching, Real Madrid are being cautious with player fitness, particularly in the case of one of their most important stars.

The club does not want to take unnecessary risks at this stage of the season, especially after Mbappe’s recent injury setback forced him to miss one of the biggest matches of the campaign against Barcelona.

On the other hand, speaking during his pre-match press conference, Alvaro Arbeloa addressed Mbappe’s situation and appeared optimistic regarding the attacker’s chances of featuring.

“If he’s available and can complete, he’ll certainly get some playing time to show his commitment to the club.”

Whether he starts or not remains uncertain for now, but Real Madrid will be encouraged by the fact that their star forward appears to have recovered.
