Real Madrid will look to bounce back to winning ways this weekend when they take on Elche away from home in their first league game after the international break.

After suffering a recent slump in results and allowing Barcelona to get within three points of them, it is a crucial game for the men in white to get back on track and Xabi Alonso will look to his players to come out all guns blazing.

As relayed by MARCA in a recent report, it is not ruled out that Aurelien Tchouameni makes it back in time for the game against Elche in what comes as a surprising development.

Deciding day

The French midfielder suffered an injury to his semitendinosus muscle earlier this month and was expected to be out for three weeks.

Just over two weeks have passed and the player is already training with the group and it is clear that his recovery is going well.

Now, the Spanish outlet relay that Friday will be a decisive day for the midfielder to check if he can make it back in time for the weekend’s clash or not.

He has a good chance of doing so, but a lot will depend on the upcoming training session.

After taking a break day from training on Thursday, Tchouameni will be tested on Friday to check his response to real-game stress.

A decision will be taken based on his sensations, and the management will not be hasty in any capacity to push for his return.

So far this season, Tchouameni has been a pillar in Real Madrid’s plans and has stood out as a reliable cog in Xabi Alonso’s midfield.

Eduardo Camavinga would normally be his de facto replacement, but given that he too returned from the national team with a niggle, Friday’s training session will decide which of them gets the start.
