Real Madrid midfield mainstay has no intentions of leaving despite club open to offers

Jose Mourinho’s arrival at Real Madrid is pioneering massive dressing room changes. In the short span since his arrival so far, the defence has already secured a completely new look and the midfield is the next target.

Los Blancos have clear targets in mind for the midfield, but are prioritising departures first before they proceed with negotiations over signings.

Eduardo Camavinga, on that front, has emerged as a top candidate to leave the club this summer.

Another candidate being considered, albeit less so, is Aurelien Tchouameni who is currently serving as a regular starter for France at the FIFA World Cup.

The player’s priority

As confirmed in a recent report by Pablo Gallego, Tchouameni has no intention of leaving Real Madrid in any capacity and is currently focusing all his attention on the World Cup.

The situation may evolve as time passes, especially as the club move closer to new midfield signings or the manager has a chance to converse with the player and explain the importance he will have.

As of today, however, the Frenchman is not even remotely thinking of Real Madrid.

Matters, thus, will likely only progress after the World Cup once the player returns to Madrid. As long as the player is guaranteed a starting role or a prominent part, however, he is unlikely to leave.

Open to offers

While Tchouameni’s stance on staying is clear, Real Madrid are far from convinced with the situation. They trust the player and value him highly, but do not see him as irreplaceable.

Los Blancos, thus, are open to offers for the defensive midfielder this summer and will not hesitate to sit down and negotiate should the right offer arrive.

Premier League giants Manchester United have been closely linked with the player in recent times, and it is no secret that they see him as the ideal Casemiro replacement.

Xabi Alonso’s Chelsea have also appeared on the radar, meanwhile and are tracking his situation.

Last season, Tchouameni made 33 league appearances and 31 starts in La Liga and averaged over ten defensive actions and 4.4 ball recoveries per game.

He completed 92% of his passes and created four big chances in the process.
