Earlier this week, Real Madrid faced off against Olympiacos in the UEFA Champions League, in what was a must-win match after the team had gone three games in a row without a victory.
Despite the importance of the match, Xabi Alonso had named a starting XI which did not have talismanic midfielder Jude Bellingham in it.
The England superstar’s absence, though, was not tactical, but due to overload, which prohibited him from playing from the get-go in Athens.
However, leading up to Sunday’s La Liga game against Girona, there is some positive news for Real Madrid with Bellingham’s condition.
Indeed, according to journalist Sergio Quirante, Bellingham is fully fit to play against the Catalan club, which will come as a boost for Real Madrid.

After all, the 22-year-old star has been in good nick in recent weeks. In fact, Bellingham was key to Real Madrid salvaging a point against Elche last weekend, scoring and assisting a goal in the 2-2 draw.
Despite having been dealing with discomfort, the England international did come on and play close to 30 minutes of football against Olympiacos in the Champions League fixture this week.
But with him having fully recovered now, the expectation would be that he will start against Girona at Estadi Montilivi on Sunday.
It will pose a tactical puzzle for manager Xabi Alonso, who will have to decide whom to sacrifice to make room for Bellingham, after starting Federico Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga, Arda Guler, and Aurelien Tchouameni in the midweek clash.
So far this season, Bellingham, who missed a month of action due to shoulder surgery, has racked up four goals and two assists from 13 games in all competitions.
