In recent weeks, speculations linking Enzo Fernandez to a move to Real Madrid have intensified, even more so by the player himself.

The Chelsea midfielder has made it no secret that he would love to move to the Spanish capital, at a time when Real Madrid are desperately looking for reinforcements in the middle of the park.

Franco Mastantuono on Fernandez links

Now, Real Madrid’s own star Franco Mastantuono has added fuel to the fire by openly talking about the Fernandez links.

In a recent interview, the former River Plate starlet acknowledged the speculation surrounding the midfielder’s future, even admitting that he would love to have him as a teammate.

“Of course I would like that,” he said, when asked about the possibility of Fernandez joining Real Madrid in the coming summer.

Mastantuono was speaking to D Sports, as part of an interaction as the attacker is currently on international duty with Argentina.

It must be noted that Mastantuono and Fernandez are teammates in the Argentine national team and have played together a few times.

They most recently shared the pitch during Argentina’s friendly against Mauritania, with Mastantuono coming on as a substitute. He was on the bench in the following game against Zambia, where Argentina secured a 5-0 victory.

One would expect both Franco and Enzo to be a part of the Argentina team for the upcoming FIFA 2026 World Cup.

However, as far as Enzo’s move to Real Madrid is concerned, it won’t be a walk in the park, considering the fact that Chelsea aren’t too keen on offloading their star midfielder and have reportedly slapped a hefty price tag.
