The dismal mood in Carlo Ancelotti’s post-match press conference last night quite clearly summed up Real Madrid’s start to the new season.

After all, the men in white slumped to their second draw in just three games at Gran Canaria and the manager made it clear in his interaction that his team was simply not good enough and took the brunt of the blame.

While Ancelotti’s squad may be closed, the Merengues could receive a significant boost once the injured midfielders Eduardo Camavinga and Jude Bellingham return.

Jorge C Picon provides an update on the situation of the Frenchman and when he is expected back in action.

Recovery going good

As revealed by the Spanish journalist, Camavinga is recovering from the knee injury he suffered in pre-season and has even begun running at a low intensity.

The signs are promising and his recovery appears to be on track as it stands.

If his injury continues to improve at the current rate, the club hope that he can start training with the ball after the international break. A return to the field, thus, is still a sizeable distance away.

Ancelotti will hope that the youngster returns to complete fitness at the earliest for his availability would solve many of Los Blancos’ problems on the field.

As revealed by the manager in his post-match press conference, the defending champions are struggling with the pace of the game and are unable to make the right transitions from defence to attack.

With ball control, pace, agility and skill, Camavinga brings precisely those skillsets to the table. A quick return, thus, would go a long way in helping Ancelotti and Co.
