Real Madrid’s new signings have not had the impact one would have expected of them so far, and are rightfully being criticised for their performances.

Yan Diomande, in that sense, has constantly been placed under the magnifying lens, especially because of the massive sum Real Madrid shelled out for his incorporation.

Arriving as the club’s costliest transfer of all time, the pressure on Diomande’s shoulders is unreal and the player has slowly begun to blossom after an initial rough run.

He earned an assist in his start against Elche last week, and while he started as a substitute against Atletico Madrid, it was his introduction that brought some life into Real Madrid’s attack in the derby.

Taking to TikTok via Mundo Deportivo while on duty with his national team, Yan Diomande sent a cryptic message to fans and critics across the globe in a very subtle manner.

The new Real Madrid signing did not directly state or gesture anything on the post, but it was the lyrics that did all the talking.

Recording the short clip with the song Migbo (Remix), by Sethlo and L’Oiseau Rare in the background, the lyrics were heard as follows.

“We don’t need anything to get to the top. On the internet, you talk loudly but you don’t even bathe”

“Even if we do good, they will always come to criticise us. We only continue to go up, 140 million, that’s what they asked for,” it went on.

A smart message

The €140 million that appears in the lyrics of the song incidentally happens to be the exact sum Real Madrid could end up paying RB Leipzig for Diomande’s signing including variables.

Needless to say, the selection of the verse was very subtle and clear from the player, and he made it clear that he was isolating himself from all the noise around his performances.

After a relatively slow start, Diomande has begun to show his quality in Real Madrid’s recent games and has emerged as a creative force on the wing.

There is a slow talk growing that Vinicius Jr. could lose his starting spot and that Diomande could start featuring as a regular for Los Blancos.
