Two of Real Madrid’s four summer signings made their debut for the club in the recently concluded FIFA Club World Cup.
Franco Mastantuono and Alvaro Carreras, however, played in the event with their former teams and are yet to debut in white.
While the expectations on the latter are high enough, the hopes around Mastantuono are significantly higher for he is seen as the next big thing in world football as Real Madrid made a massive investment for the long term by signing him.
The Argentine phenom has not yet arrived in the Spanish capital and is expected to make his transit to Europe soon. AS provide an update on the same.
As relayed by the Spanish outlet, there is a lot of expectation around Mastantuono’s potential and the club see him as a starter despite his age and inexperience. Xabi Alonso and Co. bet heavily on him.
It is rare for a club like Real Madrid to trust a young arrival with regular minutes from day one and even Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo had a period of adaptation before they were made regulars.

The Argentine wonderkid, however, is seen as one who can form an exception and see plenty of minutes from the get go.
The idea is that he travels to Madrid either late this week or early next week and thus begins the process of acclimating to his new club.
Despite arriving early, however, he is only expected to join the group in training on August 14th, the day on which he turns 18 years old, despite the rest of the squad beginning on August 4th.
Over the past month, Mastantuono has been training on vacation to arrive in Madrid in his best possible fitness and has even gained significant physique in the process.
Given his late entry into the team dynamics, however, Mastantuono will only have four training sessions before the first league game of the season and will thus not start as a regular. He is expected to be gradually phased in over the initial weeks and impose his presence.
Jude Bellingham’s surgery and resultant layoff for three months provide the new signing with the ideal stage to see more action and prove his worth. He is seen as a starter beyond doubt, and all that remains is that he shows his quality on the field.
