Manchester City have been offered the opportunity to sign Eduardo Camavinga by Real Madrid this summer, according to new reports.
City’s structural needs grew significantly upon the conclusion of the last season as club icon Bernardo Silva finalised a free-agent switch to Real Madrid, creating an immediate vacancy for a new energetic option in the centre of the park.

And with ongoing doubts surrounding all of Mateo Kovacic, Rodri, Tijjani Reijnders, and Nico Gonzalez this summer, the £116 million deal for Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson is unlikely to be the sole signing in midfield.
Concurrently, an evolution is underway in the Spanish capital, as Real Madrid’s senior leadership aggressively tailor their squad configuration to match the requirements of newly re-appointed manager José Mourinho.
The Portuguese coach is believed to be prioritising the strengthening of defensive roles, whilst adding leadership to his squad in Bernardo Silva, with his former Manchester City teammate Ruben Dias tipped for interest from the Bernabeu.
Now, according to Matteo Moretto reporting for Marca, Real Madrid have offered France international midfielder Eduardo Camavinga to Manchester City, with direct contacts between the two clubs having been held ‘in recent hours’.
It is claimed that an exit for Camavinga from the Bernabeu has the approval of Los Blancos manager José Mourinho, who has ‘not been entirely convinced’ by the 23-year-old’s performances in recent seasons.
From the side of Hugo Viana and those at the Etihad Stadium, City are said to be considering the possible signing of Eduardo Camavinga – a player ‘highly regarded’ within the Premier League for his ‘stamina and physical prowess’.
The sudden availability of the French international injects a new layer of intrigue into Manchester City’s summer, with Real Madrid’s baseline valuation unknown, but unlikely to come without a significant financial outlay.
While Camavinga has endured injuries throughout his Bernabeu career, his ceiling as a world-class hybrid number six or inverted left-back makes him a tempting proposition for Enzo Maresca’s setup.
With City’s first-team squad scheduled to report for pre-season on July 20 ahead of their summer tour in Hong Kong and South Korea, discussions between Hugo Viana and Real Madrid may move at speed depending on the intentions of Manchester City.
