In a recent report, Defensa Central claimed that Real Madrid have been offered a chance to land Manchester United winger Antony in 2024. However, it is understood that Los Blancos have rejected the opportunity to bring the former Ajax wide player to the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium next year.

Antony’s Unimpressive Campaign In English Football

Antony has struggled to prove his worth at Old Trafford during this campaign after failing to be productive for Man United in front of the opponent’s goal. The Brazilian sensation has participated in 20 matches for the Red Devils this season but failed to find the back of the net or assist a goal for them across all fronts.

The 23-year-old deserves some credit for averaging 1.6 shots, 1.1 key passes and 0.9 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He has even distributed the ball relatively well after completing 78.4% of his attempted passes in the English top-flight (stats via whoscored).

His current contract at the Mancunian club will expire in the summer of 2027. However, Antony’s lack of form could see Man United cash in on him when the transfer window reopens at the start of next year.

Is Antony A Good Fit For Real Madrid?

Antony can engineer some space for himself to get some shots in at goal. He is a good dribbler with the ball and has got the vision to create a few decent chances for his teammates in the final third.

Antony mainly operates as a right-sided wide player but can also fill in as a left-winger if told to do so by his manager. At 23, he has the potential to become a future star at the highest level. However, there is no denying that the Brazilian talent has struggled to be productive with his offensive contributions for the Red Devils this season.

Hence, Antony won’t be a great fit for Real Madrid‘s needs at the moment. He is not good enough to earn a regular starting spot in Los Blancos head coach Carlo Ancelotti’s first XI.

the Madrid giants would be better off opting for a more proven winger rather than arrange a move for Antony who would be a risky option for them to pursue next year.
