La Liga giants Real Madrid have kicked into gear negotiations with Dani Ceballos, over an imminent departure from the club.

This comes amid the understanding that the parties are giving serious consideration to contract termination this summer.

Midfielder Ceballos has of course long been tipped to bring a definitive close to his time on the books of Real Madrid over the months ahead.

After falling completely out of favour over the final months of last season, the former Arsenal man is not viewed as playing any part in the plans of the incoming José Mourinho.

The expectation, in turn, was that Florentino Pérez and co. would seek out a cut-price transfer fee for Ceballos, ahead of the expiration of his contract terms in 12 months’ time.

As alluded to above, however, Lo Blancos may in fact not be in line for any form of return for the 29-year-old.

As per a report from Real Madrid journalist Jorge C Picon:

‘Real Madrid and Dani Ceballos are negotiating the termination of his contract. Feeling that an agreement will be reached soon and the Andalusian will be free to choose his destination.’
