Real Madrid provide updates on Kylian Mbappé injury | OneFootball

Having been substituted due to injury during France’s 1–0 victory over Turkey on Friday, Kylian Mbappé (27) has suffered a hyperextension of the posterior joint capsule in his left knee, Real Madrid said in a medical statement.

Whilst no specific recovery timeframe has yet been announced, the French striker is expected to be sidelined for 10 to 12 days. If this timeframe is adhered to, Mbappé could be available for the La Liga restart on 10th October against Villarreal.

Starting on the left wing of the French attack for Zinédine Zidane’s debut in charge of Les Bleus, the number 10 seized the opportunity to score the only goal of the match shortly before the hour mark. It was a right-footed strike that caused his injury, and he was substituted just a few minutes after opening the scoring.

Ruled out for the remainder of the training camp, Mbappé will therefore miss the scheduled matches against Belgium and Italy.
