Real Madrid reject midfielder transfer approach

La Liga giants Real Madrid this past weekend knocked back an approach from France for midfield starlet Thiago Pitarch. This comes with the 19-year-old featuring prominently in the club’s long-term plans for the future.

Youngster Pitarch is for his part of course fresh off something of a breakout campaign in Spain’s capital in 2025/26. Amid a personnel crisis in Real’s engine room ranks, the teen, then just 18 years of age, secured for himself a prominent role over the 2nd half of the term.

All told, Pitarch went on to rack up 16 appearances between La Liga and the Champions League, chipping in with a pair of assists along the way.

Despite as much, it was at one point suggested that he could be moved on this summer, amid the efforts of the Bernabéu brass to land both Bernardo Silva and Rodri.

But as alluded to above, over the last 48 hours, Florentino Pérez and co. have made clear once more that Pitarch will be going nowhere any time soon. As per a report from The Athletic:

‘Real Madrid have rejected an approach from Lille for Thiago Pitarch as the French side seek to identify a potential replacement for Ayyoub Bouaddi. The 19-year-old midfielder signed an improved contract this week, and Madrid intend to keep him.’
