Real Madrid have secured the future of 18-year-old striker Jaime Barroso, extending his contract until 2030.

The Spanish capital giants have placed a release clause of €80 million on the prolific academy forward, currently the top scorer for the club in the UEFA Youth League with three goals.

Confirming the news of his renewal, the teenager posted an image of him signing the contract on social media, with the following message:

“The dream continues. Thank you to the club of my life for the trust and to everyone who helps me keep growing. Here’s to many more years walking together. Hala Madrid y nada mas!”

Who is Jaime Barroso?

One of the most highly-rated young talents in La Fabrica, Real Madrid’s youth academy, Barroso is quickly carving out a reputation for himself as a prolific goalscorer.

Since joining the club’s academy in 2022, he has already registered 99 goals – of which 18 have come in the ongoing campaign between Real Madrid C and the Juvenil A setup.

On Saturday he scored the third goal in the 6-0 victory of the Juvenil A side over La Cruz Villanovense in the Division de Honor youth league.

A day later, Barroso provided an assist for Castrelo, setting up the decisive 2-1 goal in the 89th minute for Real Madrid C.

Barroso is a true centre-forward – strong, combative and effective. It has earned him the nickname ‘The Buffalo’.

He holds up play, battles with defenders and has a natural scoring instinct – the qualities that have earned him this long-term contract until 2030, with a hefty €80 million release clause.

Looking ahead, the club’s plan is for Barroso to begin integrating into Real Madrid Castilla next season, continuing his development within the club’s system.
