La Liga giants Real Madrid look increasingly likely to miss out on the signing of Bayern Munich star Dayot Upamecano.

This comes amid the understanding that the France international is now giving strong consideration to penning fresh terms at the Allianz Arena.

Stopper Upamecano has of course seen his name linked with that of Real Madrid for some time now.

Amid a search on the part of the latter for reinforcements at the back, the 27-year-old had been earmarked as a major market opportunity.

Los Blancos, masters of the free agent market, were hopeful of convincing Upamecano to allow his contract terms with Bayern to expire, before taking his talents to Spain’s capital next summer.

If the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, however, then the chances of as much appear to be declining.

As per a report from Fichajes, the brass in Munich have ramped up efforts to tie Upamecano down to a new deal.

Not only that, but the in-form defender is viewed as increasingly open to committing his future to the German champions.
