According to a recent report from Fichajes, it has come to light that Real Madrid are actively preparing for life after Dani Carvajal, and the club has identified Alex Jimenez as a potential successor at right-back.

It must be noted that there is nothing but respect for Carvajal and everything he has given over the years. However, the reality of elite football is unavoidable.

Those within the club are beginning to accept that Carvajal is entering the final phase of his career and that maintaining the intense physical demands required at the very top is becoming increasingly difficult.

Sources close to the situation believe that Real Madrid are unlikely to offer the veteran a contract renewal.

With that in mind, alternative scenarios are being quietly explored and there is also growing attention around Qatar as a possible destination for Carvajal next summer.

Another former player on radar

This changing landscape has pushed the club to scan the market for long-term solutions, and one name has gained strong backing internally, not just for sporting reasons but also for emotional ones.

Jimenez is a familiar face at Valdebebas. A former Real Madrid academy player, he left the club in search of regular minutes and the chance to grow without the pressure that comes with wearing white.

Currently owned by AC Milan, Jimenez is spending this season on loan at Bournemouth, where he has been delivering consistent and mature performances in the Premier League.

What makes Jimenez stand out is his profile. He is seen as a modern full-back, blessed with stamina, tactical discipline, and the confidence to contribute in attack.

Crucially, he also understands the club’s identity and demands, having grown up within its system.

What about the fee?

From a financial standpoint, the operation is also attractive, as Jimenez is valued at around €18 million, a figure that Real Madrid consider manageable, especially when compared to the inflated prices of other full-backs.

In an era where efficiency is just as important as star power, this aspect plays heavily in his favour.

For now, no final decision has been made, but the direction is set. Real Madrid are planning ahead, with one eye on the future and another on their roots.

If Carvajal’s chapter is indeed nearing its end, Alex Jimenez could be the natural next step in a position that demands both quality and identity.
