Real Madrid star Fran García requested to train away from the rest of the club’s squad this past weekend.
As much came after the Spaniard was denied a late-window transfer away from the Santiago Bernabéu.
Defender Fran was for his part widely tipped to depart Real Madrid on loan this month, amid serious interest in his services on the part of Premier League outfit Bournemouth.
In fact, at one point late last week, the left-back’s move to England appeared to be little more than a formality.
Just when Fran’s search for increased game-time looked set to come to fruition, however, those behind the scenes in Spain’s capital pulled the plug on the transfer.
And the player, it has since been revealed, was left hugely disappointed by this development.
As per a report from The Athletic:
‘Following the rejection of the transfer, Garcia, 26, did not feel ready to return to training as if nothing had happened and requested to do individual work on Saturday.’
After seeing out the opening 15 minutes of the session with his teammates, Fran, in turn, was put through an individualised workout.
