Real Madrid star confirms he will undergo surgery after Club World Cup | OneFootball

A headline member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has been pencilled in for surgery later this summer.

The player in question? Jude Bellingham.

England international Bellingham is for his part fresh off playing a starring role for Real Madrid on Sunday night.

The 21-year-old was in from the off at the Bank of America Stadium, as Los Blancos locked horns with Mexican outfit Pachuca in the Club World Cup.

And en route to an eventual 3-1 victory, Bellingham opened the scoring amid a fine individual display.

Such endeavours were rewarded post-match, as the former Borussia Dortmund standout was handed the Man of the Match award.

During his ensuing appearance in front of the media, though, it was the subject of the player’s long-term should injury which was put to Bellingham himself.

And the midfield starlet went on to confirm that, upon the conclusion of Real’s adventure at the Club World Cup, he will be forced under the knife:

“My shoulder? I’ll undergo surgery after the Club World Cup. It’s planned.”
