Real Madrid star informs board of exit plans | OneFootball

A member of the midfield ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has kicked into gear efforts to secure a summer departure from the club.

That’s according to The Athletic, who point towards Dani Ceballos as the player in question.

Ceballos, for his part, is fresh off an altogether underwhelming campaign at the Santiago Bernabéu, which saw him afforded a grand total of just eight starts across all competitions.

Sitting behind all of Toni Kroos, Luka Modrić, Aurélien Tchouaméni, Jude Bellingham, Eduardo Camavinga and Federico Valverde in the engine room pecking order in Madrid, the former Arsenal man, evidently, concluded that game-time promises made ahead of signing a new contract last summer were not kept.

Ceballos, as a result, has begun actively seeking out a transfer.

As per Mario Cortegana of The Athletic:

‘The midfielder, who has been without a representative for several seasons, and the board, have held several talks on the matter. More discussions are expected to take place to resolve the situation in this transfer window.’

A number of clubs across the La Liga landscape are understood to be keen on bringing Ceballos in before the summer is out.

Real Madrid, though, will not make a transfer a straightforward one, remaining firm believers in the talents of their out-of-favour midfielder, and therefore unwilling to simply ‘give him away’.
