The latest social media activity on the part of Real Madrid star Joselu has piqued widespread attentions.
This comes after the Spanish international moved to clarify the situation, after being accused of altogether unsavoury behaviour during his side’s meeting with Valencia on Saturday night.
En route to a drama-filled 2-2 stalemate at the Mestalla, one of the headline talking points, unfortunately, came in the form of a serious knee injury suffered by Valencia star Mouctar Diakhaby.
The victim of a completely accidental collision with Real Madrid’s Aurélien Tchouaméni, Diakhaby’s distress immediately became clear, as players from both sides were caught on TV cameras looking in a state of shock at the extent of the injury.
Stretchered from the field of play, it therefore came as something of a surprise when fans across social media accused one member of Carlo Ancelotti’s Real ranks of frankly distasteful behaviour whilst Valencia’s defensive stalwart lay grounded and in agony.
The aforementioned Joselu was the man in question.
Amid efforts to make clear the serious nature of the situation to the medical staff in attendance, striker Joselu was called out for attempting to speed up Diakhaby’s removal from the pitch, so as to get Real Madrid’s hunt for a third goal back underway as quickly as possible.
In turn, in the game’s aftermath, he has moved to clarify precisely what unfolded at the Mestalla, courtesy of the following post on his ‘X’ account:
“From the first moment, with him and the doctors, I was alarmed by Diakhaby’s condition. The injury of a player always affects us very much and we ask for a quick reaction from everyone, because of the nerves and pain that these situations generate in us. Mouctar is one of us. I hope he’ll be back as soon as possible.”
