Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé has on Monday issued a response to the shocking insults aimed in his direction by Paraguayan senator Celeste Amarilla.

This comes after Amarilla left the football world bemused and disgusted with her response to Paraguay’s defeat at the hands of France.

Les Bleus of course sent the South Americans packing from the World Cup this past weekend, owing to a hard-fought 1-0 win.

The aforementioned Mbappé proved himself match-winner on the evening, notching the only goal of the clash from the penalty spot. The 27-year-old’s ensuing behaviour, however, sparked widespread anger back in Paraguay.

After he was subjected to crude treatment by the Albirroja throughout the 90 minutes in Philadelphia, Mbappé responded by laughing and taunting the Paraguayans post-match.

This gave rise to a crude response from Celeste Amarilla, a senator in the South American country, who took to social media to write, amongst a number of other insults:

‘This brute hasn’t even learned to write. Instead of breastmilk, he grew up sucking on coconuts, and the most educated creatures he ever heard were chimpanzees.’

These words have since been widely condemned throughout not only the football sphere, but across the globe at large.

And as alluded to above, on Monday evening, Mbappé felt it only right to issue a personal response. In a strongly-worded post on his official ‘X’ account, the Real Madrid and France frontman detailed:

‘Madame Celeste Amarilla,You are a despicable woman and unworthy of your position. You do not represent Paraguay, that country which has sweated passion and honor throughout the competition. Through your recklessness and your brazen racism, the entire world has already forgotten the journey and the historic effort that your players accomplished during this World Cup, making way for an incompetent woman who gives the worst possible image of her country.I will never allow people like her the freedom to spread their hatred and racism across the world. ‘
