According to a report from AS, Rodrygo has made it clear that he wants to stay at Real Madrid, but only if he continues to be an important part of Xabi Alonso’s plans and gets regular minutes on the pitch.

Despite being on the fringes of the starting XI, the Brazilian is keeping his head down and staying prepared for his moment to shine.

His situation at the club has taken a turn since the final stretch of last season. Under Carlo Ancelotti, Rodrygo gradually lost his spot in the team.

With Alonso now in charge, the competition has only intensified. At the moment, Vinicius Jr., Kylian Mbappe, and rising star Gonzalo Garcia are all ahead of Rodrygo in the pecking order. Even as a substitute, he is not the first option in attack.

Patience could pay off

Despite the lack of opportunities and a goal drought, Rodrygo is not giving up. He remains focused and has been working hard behind the scenes.

On social media, he has shown that he is mentally ready and looking forward to tonight’s Club World Cup semi-final clash against PSG.

The Brazilian has not registered a goal contribution in months. His last assist came on April 1 against Real Sociedad in the Copa del Rey, while his last goal dates back to March 4 in the Champions League against Atletico Madrid.

Since then, he has struggled to find rhythm or minutes.

But Rodrygo knows how quickly things can change in football. A strong performance or a decisive goal tonight could change everything.

With potentially only one or two games left in this tournament, he knows it’s his final chance before the season restarts to convince Alonso of his value.

For now, he is not pushing for a move. He wants to stay in Madrid, but only if he plays a meaningful role. And tonight might just be the start of his comeback story.
