Real Madrid star Dani Carvajal has on Saturday sent a public message of apology the way of the club’s supporters.
This comes owing to his red card in midweek.
Defender Carvajal of course took his place front and centre in the headlines across Spain earlier this week.
As much came after the 33-year-old was responsible for a moment of madness in Real Madrid’s Champions League opener against Marseille.
En route to a 2-1 Blancos victory, Carvajal was given his marching orders during the 2nd-half.
This came for a needless headbutt on Marseille no.1 Gerónimo Rulli.
With Trent Alexander-Arnold having already limped off with an injury, the show of petulance came as a costly one for Xabi Alonso and his troops.
Speaking to the media on Saturday, Carvajal therefore made use of the opportunity to say sorry.
After playing his part in Real Madrid’s 2-0 La Liga downing of Espanyol, the experienced right-back explained:
“I want to apologize for my red card in the last match. It’s something unlike me and completely inappropriate in a match like that.”
