A headline member of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has agreed to the terms of a new long-term contract with the club.
That’s according to Marca, who point towards Andriy Lunin as the player in question.
Goalkeeper Lunin’s future, of course, was considered as having been thrown altogether back up in the air this past summer.
As much came after the Ukrainian international’s swift demotion back to 2nd-choice behind Thibaut Courtois culminated in widespread suggestions that he was giving consideration to a new challenge.
In the end, however, Lunin was evidently convinced that the best route forward involved staying put in Spain’s capital.
As per a report from the aforementioned Marca, on Wednesday:
‘Any doubts have been dispelled with the signing of the new contract , which will be announced this week.’
Ahead of the expiration of his prior terms in the summer of 2025, Lunin, it is understood, has committed his future to Real Madrid all the way through 2028.
