A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid played no part in training on Thursday.
That’s according to journalist Arancha Rodríguez, who points towards Jesús Vallejo as the player in question.
Carlo Ancelotti’s troops were put through their paces for the latest time this afternoon, in an effort to build fitness further ahead of the club’s return to action this weekend.
After stuttering to a disappointing 1-1 stalemate with Mallorca in the club’s La Liga season opener last Sunday, Real will be hoping to put things right in three days’ time, when they play host to Real Valladolid.
Whilst he was unlikely to feature either way, though, one member of Ancelotti’s ranks who could yet be ruled out of the Santiago Bernabéu clash comes in the form of the aforementioned Jesús Vallejo.
Set to stay put in the first-team setup back in Spain’s capital this season amid a dearth of central defensive options, stopper Vallejo, on Thursday, sat out training.
This comes, according to COPE’s Arancha Rodríguez, as a result of an unspecified ‘overload’ in his muscles.
