Real Madrid star sits out training on national team duty

A leading member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid was forced to sit out international training on Monday.
The player in question? Kylian Mbappé.
Frontman Mbappé was of course forced into a premature departure from Real Madrid’s most recent outing, this past weekend.
En route to a 3-1 La Liga victory over Villarreal, during which he notched a goal and an assist, the 26-year-old limped out of proceedings late on.
This came owing to an ankle complaint.
Speaking to the media earlier today, France national team boss Didier Deschamps moved to play the situation down, in assuring:
“Kylian Mbappé injured? He’s here, he had a small issue but nothing serious, otherwise he wouldn’t be here today.”
As alluded to above, though, the former Paris Saint-Germain standout was nevertheless forced to sit out group training with his international teammates on Monday.
As per a report from RMC Sport, Mbappé was put through an individualised session inside the gym earlier today.
This comes amid ongoing treatment for what is described simply as ‘a right ankle injury’.
