A headline member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid was over the weekend spotted out enjoying a meal with the sporting director of one of Saudi football’s leading clubs.
The player in question? Antonio Rüdiger.
Defender Rüdiger is for his part sidelined at present, after being forced under the knife to solve a long-standing knee injury late last season.
The German’s recovery is understood to be progressing well, so much so that he could yet play a prominent role for Real Madrid at the Club World Cup.
If the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, though, then this tournament could prove to be Rüdiger’s very last in the colours of Los Blancos.
As showcased in the photo below, the former Chelsea man over the weekend enjoyed an outing to a restaurant, alongside ex-Real defender Fernando Hierro, as well as intermediary Fran Porras.
Hierro currently acts as sporting director for Saudi outfit Al-Nassr, sparking immediate speculation that a summer move to the Middle East could be on the cards for Rüdiger.
The 32-year-old has long been in demand in the Saudi Pro League, with events over recent days having spiked speculation that such a transfer could at last be forthcoming over the months ahead.
