Real Madrid star suffered an injury in defeat to Atlético | OneFootball

The difficult evening endured by La Liga table-toppers Real Madrid on Saturday has taken another turn for the worse.

This comes amid confirmation of an injury suffered by a member of Los Blancos’ defensive ranks.

Real Madrid of course marked their return to action a short time ago, making the short trip across the Spanish capital for a league meeting with Diego Simeone’s Atlético.

When all was said and done on a night to forget for Xabi Alonso’s troops, however, they were condemned to the wrong side of a 5-2 result.

After recovering from a goal down to take the lead during the first-half, a collapse on either side of the interval culminated in a first defeat of the term.

And yet, as alluded to above, the eventual result was far from the only source of concern for Real Madrid at the Metropolitano.

In addition, it has been revealed that Éder Militão suffered an injury setback.

The Brazilian was hooked from proceedings at half-time on Saturday, with Marca having since confirmed that:

‘The Brazilian injured his left ankle early in the match after snatching a ball from Sørloth. Now everything awaits tests to confirm the extent of the injury.’
