A newly-signed member of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has this weekend been tipped to establish himself as world football’s standout performer in his position.

The player in question? Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Full-back Alexander-Arnold was of course at last presented as the latest addition to Xabi Alonso’s Real Madrid squad earlier this week.

After being announced as a Blancos player at the end of last month, the England international went on to link up with his new club on Thursday morning.

Expectations are sky high for Alexander-Arnold in Spain’s capital, with the 26-year-old expected to thrive in an attack-focused role in new boss Alonso’s setup.

And one individual in no doubt that as much will prove the case when all is said and done is tennis star Carlos Alcaraz.

Drawn on Alexander-Arnold’s signing during an interview with BBC Sport, as cited by Marca, this weekend, Real Madrid fan Alcaraz went as far as to state:

“I have a lot of respect for him, honestly. It’s great to have him at Real Madrid. I’m convinced he’ll be the best right-back in the world.”
