Nothing seems to be going right for Brazil at the moment. The Selecao are coming on the back of a disappointing 1-0 loss to Paraguay, a result which underpins the team’s poor performances in World Cup qualifiers.

Brazil, in fact, have lost four times in their last five South American qualifiers and are stranded in fifth position, behind the likes of Ecuador, Uruguay, Colombia and world champions Argentina.

Brazil’s poor showing, coupled with their early exits from the last Copa America and FIFA World Cup has raised immense scrutiny in the national team.

Vinicius Jr. on Brazil’s recent form

Players like Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo have received more heat than anyone else, in the wake of Brazil’s recent performances.

Both players, hoping to lead the next generation of Brazilian football team, have failed to reach the same level they have with Real Madrid.

As a result, they have faced immense scrutiny, leaving fans yearning for the return of the injured Neymar.

Nevertheless, Vinicius spoke out for the first time following Brazil’s embarrassing defeat to Paraguay, acknowledging the Selecao‘s poor situation and the fact that they need to get out of it quickly.

“We know the situation we are in and we want to get Brazil out of this situation at any price,” said the Real Madrid player (h/t Mundo Deportivo).

“Now it’s time to go home and think about what we can do to play well again and win games more easily. We can’t come here, lose these points and play like we’ve been doing. It’s a difficult moment,” he said.

The Brazilian also said the team must absorb all the criticism, adding, “We have to absorb all the criticism and come back as quickly as possible to put Brazil back on top.”

With just three wins in eight matches, it is imperative for Brazil to return to winning ways in their next set of fixtures.
