Real Madrid take another step to solve injury crisis with new doctor appointment

Jose Mourinho would have to find a solution for several problems if he wants to get his Real Madrid team firing on all cylinders going into the 2026-27 season. Making Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe work with one another, ensuring there is enough creativity from the midfield, and that the defense does not give away unnecessary chances to the opposition would be only some of these issues.

Meanwhile, another aspect of the team that would worry him would be that of injuries and physical problems. Last year, Los Blancos suffered from a whopping 52 injuries to their first-team players, and this issue was certainly one of the factors that caused them to end the last two seasons without any major silverware.

Going forward, Real Madrid seem intent to mitigate this issue, and the club is already making some changes for this purpose. As Diario AS has reported, one of the steps they have taken is to bring in a new doctor, i.e., Dr. Alexandre Creuze, the former head doctor of AS Monaco.

Creuze would now be in charge of the medical care of the first team, and would work under Dr. Niko Mihic, who remains the top medical authority at the Merengue club. Both of these individuals already have a close relationship, and are also among the founding members of an international organization of some of the most prestigious specialists in sports medicine.

The newly signed doctor has spent all of his previous professional career in France, first serving at the academy of Girondins de Bordeaux, before joining Monaco in 2018. At the principality club, he has proven himself as one of the finest doctors in French and European football.

It is clear that the move to Real Madrid would be the biggest challenge in his career so far. But still being only 45 years of age, he can bring in a lot of energy while also having significant experience under his belt. Hopefully, Alexandre Creuze’s arrival will stem the tide of injuries that have plagued the Merengue team for the last few years.
